Dilbert on “green” press releases

Dilbert.com

Is this Dilbert on ClimateGate?

Is Scott Adams’ Dilbert making fun of the current ClimateGate controversy?

In ClimateGate, really smart researchers on the climate took a bunch of data and made some conclusions. They didn’t think their pointy-haired constituents that paid their salaries deserved to have all of the data – instead they gave us a thimble of the data. Of course, in their case they didn’t tell us to wear the thimble like a hat – they just said that we should trust them since they are scientists and know what is good for us. In fact that big pile of paper that Dilbert is carrying doesn’t exist from Paul Jones and his friends – they threw the pile of paper away and just left the thimble!

The impression of doing good

Dilbert and his boss once again point out the hypocrisy of life.  In this case it is due to trying to be environmentally good.

It is hard to be good.  Sorry, Mr. Gore, but it is true.  Here are a few inconvenient facts:

  1. It is very dangerous to the health of you and your children to live in a home or enter a room where a CFL (compact fluorescent) bulb has broken.  That danger is minimized if you have had the room cleaned by a hazardous waste team.  What is the problem?  Mercury.  Check out this article.
  2. While Toyota and others are offering a bounty for the return of their hybrid batteries, the disposal of all those ecologically unsafe batteries is a real concern.

Dilbert: Director of Green

When the EPA was a joke, “Ghostbusters” made fun of it in the movie.  Now we have Dilbert.  Click the image to go to the Dilbert site to see the full size cartoon:

I can’t resist showing this Dilbert cartoon

I think that Dilbert cartoons are incredibly funny most of the time. Maybe it is because I have spent much of my life in corporate America and therefore I can relate to many of the story lines.

This episode is on-target with this site. Enjoy. Laugh. Go read other Dilbert cartoons. Have a good weekend.

This site is 1 years old today

Just a quick note to everyone to announce the 1 year birthday of this site. Last February 12, I kicked off this site with the following article:

Carbon Cycle

I must say that I have enjoyed the last year and I continue to think that the discussion on this topic is still very relevant. I plan to continue this discussion and exploration for the foreseeable future.

I didn’t quite make my goal of averaging a new article every day. Instead, I have posted 351 times so I am 14 short. I am happy to report that almost 20,000 people have viewed this site in the last 12 months. I wish I could thank each of you personally but I am afraid that this public announcement must suffice.

Still more Sunday comics

I think at least one day a week we should chuckle about something.

My personal favorite of this group is this one:

I chose this one simply because it doesn’t declare that global warming isn’t happening but instead makes fun of Mr. Gore’s personal lifestyle and points out that there are far more important issues in the world today then global warming. I sometimes feel that since greenhouse gas emission is such an easy thing to blame big business and governments for that it is the popular thing to do.  In contrast, trying to bring peace to Burma is incredibly difficult.

Another Sunday comic day

I picked up the idea that I needed to do another day of comics from Scott Huong over at BUUUUURRRRNING HOT. With Mr. Gore winning the Nobel Peace Prize this week, there are a lot of cartoons out there.
